I. There shall exist in the Principality of the Sun an award, Known as the Order of the Hope of the Sun, which may be given by the Princess to those persons who demonstrate and understanding of life in these Current Middle Ages, know and use the appropriate courtesies consistently, and demonstrate abilities in the Arts to the best of their ability and knowledge.
II. The holders of the awardshall be styled as Companions of the Hope of the Sun and shall be entitled to place the initials C.H.S. after their names.
III. The insignia of the order shall consist of a medallion, pendant from a green ribbon, bearing, subject to approval by the SCA College of Arms: Upon a sun, a bend sinister charged with a sprig of laurel.
IV. Recipients of the award shall have attained no more than 16 years of age, and shall have been active in the Society for Creative Anachronism for at least one year.
V. The award shall convey neither arms nor precedence.
VI. Amendments to this constitution shall be made by the Coronet of the Sun after due consultation with the Crown.
VII. The companionship of all previous recipients of this award is hereby confirmed.

All members of this order are hereby confirmed as Companions of the Hope of the Sun, and are further confirmed with the rights to be known, both collectively and singularly, as the Hope of the Sun and to fly the Ensign of the Sun from this day forward.
This order is hereby closed by command of their Solar Highnesses, Drusilus and Yrsa, rightwise Prince and Princess of the Sun.
